On this journey we explore the most interesting parts of the country, starting in the Omo Valley of southern Ethiopia, home to tribal people who live much as they did 100 years ago, painting and scarifying their bodies and making their homes in villages that have very few of the items of the modern world most of us take for granted. With our local guides (who are themselves tribe members) we get a rare glimpse into their lives and have the opportunity to interact with these people as few other visitors do. We then travel north through the beautiful Rift Valley exploring its most interesting areas, and finally our trip culminates in the crater lake of Wanchi, home to what has been voted one of the most beautiful places in Ethiopia (although we find it all beautiful), but now more comfortable destination with new resort.
